Week 4: Canter's Assertive Discipline

Canter's Assertive Discipline model will be examined and demonstrated this week to give students a practical approach that can be readily implemented within the classroom. While often dismissed as the 'names on board' method or 'marbles in the jar' these comments often reflect only a partial understanding of the approach Canter outlines.
When used in totality Assertive Discipline (overview) can create a positive classroom tone that both teachers and students find conducive to effective learning.

The links below provided an outline and elaboration of Canter's approach.
